Darin Newquist

Everyone at some point is less confident with firearms until they obtain the education and training in their use. Darin has been around firearms since the Boy Scouts, and has carried on a permit in multiple states for decades. While completing his law degree in Southern California, Darin clerked in the District Attorney’s Office in open court, as well as backroom negotiations where most of ‘justice’ is done.

Over the years Darin has taken numerous firearms classes (below) and read extensively on defensive handgun use. He understands how decisions the good guy was forced to make in seconds can shape a heavy criminal justice process that the law abiding is up against. With extensive experience in insurance litigation, he can address how personal insurance may be used, and the civil suit against you that often follows.

Darin also clerked under attorney George Franscell (pioneer of the ‘furtive movement’ concept), defending federal & state peace officers for claims of wrongful death and excessive force. When younger, Darin spent numerous nights and weekends directly in the field (Los Angeles) with LAPD, LASO, and other departments, gaining insight in various levels of force and how they are applied.
